Excellence

Excellence is about doing the best we can do. We must realize that we cannot be the best at everything we do. We must define what we are or would like to be best at and what someone can do better. Excellence endures and sustains. It goes beyond motivation into the realms of inspiration. Excellence is a great starting point for any new organization. Excellence is about going above and beyond at anything you do.

“Find something that you’re really interested in doing in your life. Pursue it, set goals, and commit yourself to excellence. Do the best you can.” I believe in this quote because in order to achieve excellence you have to figure out what you want to do the rest of your life. Also you need to set goals and just commit yourself to being the best that you can be no matter what happens in life.

Excellence can be achieved anywhere. I work at Walmart and we are always striving to do better with excellence by trying the best we can and to slow down so we stop making so many mistakes. Working there has made me realize to strive for more excellence.

Another way to provide excellence is while we're in school, we're learning and trying our best so we can get a job later on in life. Without school we wouldn't be able to learn and figure out what we want to do the rest of our lives. Everyone achieves excellence at some point in their life whether its by winning a medal for piano, your still achieving excellence whether you think you are or not.

"I do the very best I know how- the ery best I can; and I mean to keep on doing so until the end." This quote is what excellence means to me because everyone tries the very best they can until the day they die.

What is Edcation Essay

What is Education?

What is Education?

What is education and what does it mean to me? Education is the process of training and developing the knowledge, skill, mind, character, etc. Education can be given anywhere, such as school, home, but actually it can be given everywhere. Everyone is given an education in this world today by getting a job. Without education, you can’t get anywhere in life.

Education is an essential part of everyone’s society without education no one could survive long. The main purpose of education is to teach, and pass on information to those who need it.
Education gives the power to make better choices in life. Every existent in life requires education. It also helps a student grow as a person and learn how to survive in everyday life.

In "How I Discovered Words: A homemade Education" by Malcom X starts out by talking about how he can't read. Once he's in jail, he teaches himself how to read and because of that he helped out with civil rights movement. Malcom X described himself as frustrated because he couldn't write to teachers the way he wanted to write and it just got to be frustrating.

In the movie Dead Poets Society there are many ways education is involved. One is that Neil says "For the first time in my life, I know what I want to do! And for the first time, I'm going to DO IT! Whether my father wants me to or not." This quote is totally true, you should be true to yourself and do what you want to do instead of what your parents want you to do. If you do what your parents want you to do you won't be happy and your future will not be what you want. Another example from the movie is when John Keating tells the boys "There is a time for daring and a time for caution, and a wise man knows which is called for." This quote relates to education by once you find something that you love take a chance at it even if you must be daring and cautious to do it.

In The Hidden Teacher by Loren Eisley, she talks about how we learn from teachers and what is all around us. I agree with what she says in this essay because we do learn from teachers but we also learn from surrounding too.

Education determines what kind of job you will have and what your future will be and without it you will have nothing. From reading these essays and watching this movie, it makes you realize how important education is and without it you're just setting yourself up for failure. John Keating: "Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all." Thoreau said, "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation." Don't be resigned to do that. Break out! (Quotes)

Personal Statement

I would like to apply for the field of elementary education, which is why I'm writing this letter. I have always wanted to help people so I decided that i wanted to help children learn. I strongly believe that I can be able to teach and help children learn. I also believe that I have the skills to be the best I can be at this career.

My experience is that I was in peer helping and natural helpers which was very fun and I really enjoyed helping other. This opened my eyes to a whole new thing, which made me realize I should try to help others learn. I've worked at Wal-mart for two years and my job deals with problem solving, communication skills, and helping others find what there looking for. Whenever I have little kids with there parents come through my line, I always realize how I'd love to teach them someday and how much I would enjoy that.

My goals for the future is to go to college and get a teaching degree so that I can teach little kids how to learn and just help them with anything and everyday problems they might have. I also want to help out children who aren't very fortunate and take them in no matter what.

The skills that I have are problem solving, communication skills, leadership, computer skills and making sure people are finding everything. Some responsibilities that I've undertaken were babysitting my younger cousins and other people's children which opened my eyes to loving children. I am honest and not afraid to show who I am as a person which shows I have integrity.

I think you should pick me because I'm easy-going, fun loving, and I will try my best whenever and whatever the circumstances are. I'm not afraid to show who I am and not afraid to teach others what this world is really like.
