Final Draft!

What is Global Warming? Global Warming is when the earth heats up (temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases trap heat and light from the sun in the earth's atmosphere. Global Warming has caused a lot in this world today. This causes many effects to people, animals, and plants.
Scientists have determined that a number of human activities by adding excessive greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide accumulate into the atmosphere and trap heat that normally would exit through outer space. Global Warming is also caused by some of the following, pollution from factories, carbon dioxide from rotting trees, the burning of coal, natural gases and fossil fuels lead to methane traveling into Earth's atmosphere any transportation vehicles, water vapor, and many other little things make Global Warming way worse.
Summers are getting hotter and winters are getting milder, glaciers are melting and sea levers are rising. If sea levels rise too much they could flood coastal cities all over the world. The warming could also affect the weather in various parts of the planet, producing more storms, with violent winds and flooding. Over the ages, however, our planet has alternated between periods of warm weather and periods of cold weather.
Global Warming may actually cause some areas to get colder and produce more snow falls. Every place on Earth would experience a climate that is different from what it used to be. Climatologists believe that the warmer temperatures are enhancing a weather phenomenon. Climate models indicate that we can expect sea levels to rise even further by eight inches to as much as seven feet by the 2050. United States are currently just about at sea level. A significant rise in the ocean levels could put cities such as New York City and the entire state of Florida under water. Changes brought by Global Warming have been too rapid to allow species to adapt and survive. Warming ocean temperatures are harming populations of krill, shrimp like kinds of fish and sea birds. Coral reefs are also threatened by the warming temperatures. Most of the world relies on fossil fuels to generate energy. Fossil fuels are responsible for more than ninety percent of human produced carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. There are many ways to help stop Global Warming.
Some ways to stop Global Warming are to buy a hybrid car, buy a fuel efficient car, and carpool when you can. These are just some ways to help prevent Global Warming, but these are just the little issues to take care of, and the bigger issues will come later. Some other ways to stop global warming are to inflate your tires, reduce garbage, plant a tree, used recycled paper, fill the dishwasher, and take shorter showers.
The causes of Global Warming are real. What we decide to do is up to every one of us. The first and most important course of action we can take is to make a major shift to renewable energy sources. Wind power, solar energy, ocean energy and geothermal power are the types of energy sources we have to utilize, on a major scale, if we want to stop our climate change from happening. The ecology of our planet is at stake and it’s up to everyone to take a stand and do something about it.
